A week in the field with Alaska's guides
APHA Youth Camp pairs young Alaskans with the people who do this for a living. Campers spend their days on the range, on the water and in the brush, learning the skills and the ethics that a career outdoors actually asks for.

In the Field
What campers do
Marksmanship
Range time with rifle and bow, run by instructors, with safety and fundamentals first.
Glassing & Wildlife ID
Learning to find and identify game through binoculars and spotting scopes before anything else happens.
Camp Craft
Setting shelter, running a camp and looking after yourself and your gear in Alaska weather.
On the Water
Time aboard with skippers and deckhands, fishing Alaska’s salt water and learning to handle the catch.
Game & Fish Care
What to do after the shot: handling, cooling and caring for meat so nothing is wasted.
Wildlife Troopers
Sessions with Alaska Wildlife Troopers on regulations, ethics and what lawful hunting looks like.
