APHA Annual Animal Awards
Recognizing outstanding trophy animals taken during the previous calendar year.
The Program
Two award programs, one banquet
The Alaska Professional Hunters Association, Inc. runs an annual animal awards program for both Safari Club International (SCI) and Boone & Crockett (B&C) awards. Each set recognizes outstanding trophy animals harvested during the previous calendar year, and awards are presented at the APHA Annual Banquet each December.
The WSF/APHA Outstanding Animal Award goes to the Guide-Outfitter whose client takes the highest-ranking Boone and Crockett animal from the eligible list. The winning Guide-Outfitter receives an award rifle and plaque at the banquet. The Guide-Outfitter must have been a Professional Member of APHA when the animal was taken, and the client must have been guided and under contract. The animal must be scored using the Boone and Crockett method, and a copy of the State of Alaska Hunt Record plus a photograph must be submitted for the entry to be valid.
The SCI/APHA Animal Awards are awarded to the top three ranking animals of each species taken during the previous calendar year. Plaques or other customized memorabilia are given to both the hunter and the Guide-Outfitter.

How to Enter
Contest guidelines
Entries are due no later than October 20th of the current year. All entries must be mailed or emailed to the APHA office; mailed entries must be postmarked by October 20th. Entries will not be accepted by fax.
The following must be submitted for an entry to be valid:
- APHA Animal Award Entry Form
- State of Alaska Hunt Record
- SCI Score Sheet (for the APHA/SCI Animal Award)
- Boone & Crockett Score Sheet (for the APHA/WSF Outstanding Animal Award)
- Photo of the animal entered
To enter the same animal for both the SCI and B&C awards you must submit separate entry forms for each, with the appropriate scoring form attached. Failure to include legible copies of the State of Alaska Hunt Record and the appropriate score sheets will result in disqualification. Entries without photos will not be entered.
