By applying for Membership with the Alaska Professional Hunters Association, Inc. (APHA), I agree to abide by the following:

1. Code of Ethics of the APHA

• To institute and secure the general adoption of a high and sportsmanlike conception of wildlife and hunting of game;
• To promote hunting by fair chase: the pursuit of trophy in a legal and sportsmanlike manner, without herding, driving or chasing trophies with the use of mechanically powered equipment;
• Consistent with the practice of hunting, fishing and photography, to promote and assist in the conservation of fauna and flora and to cooperate with Government officials concerned with the conservation of flora and fauna;
• To assist in the prevention of illegal or unsportsmanlike practice by anyone in the practice of professional hunting or by anyone engaged in the sports of hunting, fishing or photography;
• To promote and safeguard the interests of all members of this corporation;
• To endorse and foster a code of business ethics in accord with ethical standards and the laws and regulations of the State of Alaska.

2. Pledge to Support Objectives

• By signature, all members shall pledge themselves to support the objectives of the corporation.

Alaska Hunting Preservation Fund

Professional members of APHA are encouraged to participate in the Alaska Hunting Preservation Fund (NRHPF) program which substantially helps to support the long term sustainability of non-resident hunting opportunites and the professional guide industry in Alaska. Participating professional members receive numerous additional benefits over non-participating members. All new members receive full benefits their first year.

MEMBERSHIP DUES PAID TO THE APHA ARE NOT DEDUCTIBLE AS A CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION FOR INCOME TAX PURPOSES. 100% OF YOUR DUES ARE NOT DEDUCTIBLE AS A BUSINESS EXPENSE BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOCABLE TO LOBBYING EXPENSES ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS, CONSULT YOUR ACCOUNTANT.

Important Note:

All Memberships are subject to approval per Article III, Section 2(b) of the APHA By-Laws.

All new members receive a certificate, survial key chain, decal and one year subscription to "The Alaska Professional Hunter" magazine. In addition to the above named items, Professional & Assistant Guide, Business & Life Members also receive a Pewter Belt Buckle and arm patch displaying the APHA logo. Please allow up to three weeks for processing and receipt of membership materials.

Professional members name, business name, address, phone, email and website are listed in "The Alaska Professional Hunter" magazine directory and on the APHA Website, www.alaskaprohunter.org. Assistant Guide members name, address, phone and email are listed in the magazine directory and on the website. Life member's names are also listed in the magazine directory.

Professional Membership is good for one year (12/01 to 11/30). All other levels of membership run for one (1) year from the date of membership approval.

Professional members are encouraged to submit hunting photos for inclusion in the "Hunters Gallery" section of the 3 issues of the magazine (up to two photos per member per issue for all new and HPF participating professional members). All members are encouraged to submit stories and articles pertaining to hunting. The editor of "The Alaska Professional Hunter" reserves the right to edit articles submitted.
